Whether the election was fair or not, Taheri questions the oath with the Quran
Mufti Gias Uddin Taheri, the candidate of the Sunni Alliance nominated by the Bangladesh Islamic Front, has protested the election results of Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat-Madhabpur) constituency and alleged various irregularities. The candidate participating in the election with the candle symbol has said that they will take legal action to demand the cancellation of the results and re-election.
In a post on social media, Mufti Gias Uddin Taheri said, “The results of the vote rigging, fraud and farcical election of Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat-Madhabpur) constituency will not be accepted. There will be a legal fight to demand re-election. Objective evidence of the case is recorded. InshaAllah.” In the video message, he alleged that in addition to fake votes, vote rigging and forced entry, agents of the candle symbol were beaten and thrown out of the center.
He further alleged that the Election Commission has failed to create equal opportunities in Habiganj-4 constituency. He further said that the desired results were created in his constituency by using dominance, occupation and muscle power. Taheri further alleged that the result sheets of many centres do not have the signatures of candle agents.
Throwing a question at his rivals, Taheri said, “Can my opponents, who are there, swear with their hands on their chests and on the Quran that this election was fair? Didn’t they occupy the centre? Did the people of Chunarughat-Madhabpur want such an election?” Finally, Taheri said that his party will continue its legal fight against all kinds of rigging.
