Mysterious post by coordinators, what will happen on December 31?
Members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee are writing mysterious slogans on Facebook ahead of the last day of the year i.e. December 31. As a result a wide discussion has started about what is going to happen on that day.
While visiting Sylhet, Local Government, Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has stated, “The grave of fascism, Mujibism will be written through declaration.”
He made this known in a post from his verified Facebook page, which was posted around 1 am on Saturday.
He said, ‘A certificate of freedom for all the nationals of the country, without any political discrimination or biased on religion and caste basis. A new Bangladesh = based on equity, human dignity and social justice. Let the seven-point demand of June 36 to be materialized on December 31.’
Basically, a movement of sorts has been floated by the student leadership movements since Saturday evening in FB.
Advisor Asif Mahmud wrote on his personal Facebook ID, ‘বন্ধুরা এখনি অন্য সময় নয়।
Meanwhile, Member Secretary of National Citizens Committee Akhtar Hossain shared on his personal Facebook page, ‘This year it will be. December 31. InshaAllah!’
On the other hand, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Convener Hasnat Abdullah shared, ‘Comrades, 31st DECEMBER! Now or Never.’
Again, one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Rifat Rashid wrote on his Facebook post, ‘All eyes on 31st December, 2024. Now or Never!’
Then, in his comment section, he also hinted that something is going to happen at the Central Shaheed Minar at 3 pm on December 31.
Besides, other members associated with Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and National Citizens Committee are posting over the same issue in their Facebooks.
Some coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement say that the declaration of the July Uprising may be read at a function at Shaheed Minar on December 31.
A coordinator who wished to remain unnamed told mediapersons here, “Just as the declaration was read during the independence of Bangladesh, the declaration of the July Uprising will be read on December 31.”
However, Asif Mahmud and Hasnat Abdullah both have mentioned the reading of the ‘declaration’ in their new statuses. Asif Mahmud wrote, ‘Proclamation of July Revolution’, and Hasnat again wrote, ‘Proclamation of July revolution, 31st December, Shahid Minar- 3.00 pm’
Meanwhile, Umama Fatema of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement said, ‘Why did the country emerge from Sheikh Hasina’s autocratic rule and take the form of the July Revolution, how did it take place, why did we have to come from 9 points to 1 point, what were the aspirations of the students and the public, basically these are the issues on which the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement will read the declaration of the July Revolution.’
