What the three BNP organizations said in the memorandum submitted to the Indian High Commission.
A delegation of three BNP organizations submitted a memorandum to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka protesting interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs and illegal aggression. Six members of the delegation went to the High Commission in Baridhara today, Sunday afternoon, and submitted the memorandum.
When the three BNP affiliate organizations marched from Nayapaltan with the participation of a large number of leaders and activists, they reached Rampura Bridge around 1:15 pm, when the police stopped them. At that time, the police said that for security reasons, the procession would not be allowed to proceed. Only the representatives would be allowed to go to submit the memorandum.
Then, six representatives of the three BNP organizations were offered to go to submit the memorandum. Agreeing to this proposal, the representatives of the Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal left for the Indian High Commission. The six representatives are Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, Swechchhasebak Dal President SM Jilani and General Secretary Rajib Ahsan, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir. When the delegation reached the High Commission in Gulshan at around 1 pm, their memorandum was submitted.
Jubo Dal President Monayem Munna said, “We have already expressed strong condemnation against those who vandalized the Bangladesh High Commission in Agartala and burned the flag. Today we had a memorandum program to protest the false propaganda of the Indian media. Today we have submitted our memorandum of protest to the Indian High Commission.”
He also said, “Our statement is very clear. If anything happens to the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh, people from all over the country, including BNP, are united. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, “There is no question about sovereignty.” Echoing his words, the Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal took to the streets today. Our protest program was peaceful. We do not believe in any kind of terrorism. Muslims in Bangladesh are peace-loving Muslims. We are not involved in any communal riots.’
He said, ‘The way ISKCON killed a lawyer in a country with 90 percent Muslims is very condemnable. However, even after this incident, the people of Bangladesh have shown the utmost patience. But Muslims are being tortured in India constantly. We strongly condemn these extremists. We also strongly condemn those who are carrying out murders on the border of Bangladesh.’
The memorandum said, ‘We, on behalf of the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, which are affiliates and affiliates of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), express deep concern and surprise that you have given shelter to the autocratic Sheikh Hasina after she fled to your country in the unprecedented and violent movement of the students and the masses that shook the world. The most extremist leaders of your country and especially some news outlets and media are trying to rehabilitate this public enemy of Bangladesh, Hasina. This makes it clear that our friendly country India was friendly with Hasina, not with the people of Bangladesh.’
The memorandum further states that Hasina has now become a threat to the security and stability of Bangladesh. On the one hand, she is giving orders to burn the houses and properties of people of different parties in Bangladesh. On the other hand, she is threatening to kill those who have filed cases against her. Even though the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission was attacked, the law enforcement forces of your country played the role of silent spectators.
The memorandum further states, ‘The details received conclusively prove that the protesters were given permission to attack the main gate of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in a pre-planned manner. In the process, in the presence of members of the local law enforcement agencies, they vandalized the national flag pole, insulted the national flag of Bangladesh and also damaged property inside the Assistant High Commission. Despite the continuation of such shocking and shocking incidents, the people of Bangladesh are disappointed by the silence of your government. We deeply respect each other’s independence and sovereignty. The relationship between our two countries will be based on equality, mutual trust, faith and respect.’
The memorandum says, ”Waging propaganda against a sovereign state is tantamount to violating the sovereignty of the state. The recent developments in India are a disgrace to the people of Bangladesh, and we want the Indian government to take effective measures to stop the propaganda and disinformation. We are committed to building strong and friendly relations between our two countries on the basis of the ‘sovereign equality of all members’ based on the principles of the UN Charter. Through this memorandum, we inform you and request you to take appropriate measures to convey the position and views of the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal to the Indian government.”
