What the Press Secretary said about the Awami League office in Kolkata

Although the activities of the Awami League are banned in the country, all their activities are being monitored, said the press secretary of the chief advisor, Shafiqul Alam. He made this comment in response to a question at a briefing organized at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Sunday (August 10) regarding the visit of the chief advisor to Malaysia. Asked about the opening of the Awami League office in Kolkata at the briefing, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said, “All the activities of the Awami League, whose activities are banned in the country, are being monitored. We are also alert and keeping an eye on them if they try to create instability within the country.” Recently, various media outlets reported the opening of an Awami League party office in a commercial area in a suburb adjacent to Kolkata. It was also reported in the news that Awami League leaders and activists who fled to Kolkata after August 5, 2024, are regularly traveling to this party office and carrying out various party activities.
