What the Education Advisor said about the postponement of HSC exams and his resignation

Regarding the postponement of HSC and equivalent exams after the Milestone incident, the Education Advisor to the interim government, Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, said that the decision to postpone the exams cannot be taken in a hurry. He told reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday (July 23) afternoon. The Education Advisor said that the decision to postpone the exams will have to be taken after the content of the question paper is confirmed. That is why there has been some delay in postponing the exams. He also said that the schedule for the postponed HSC exams has not been fixed yet. Students protested in different parts of the country on Tuesday demanding the resignation of the Education Advisor and the Education Secretary for the delay in the decision to postpone the exams. At one point, Education Secretary Siddiq Jobair was withdrawn. In this regard, the Education Advisor said, the Education Secretary has been withdrawn. I will not take any decision on resignation myself. If the government thinks that I have done anything wrong in this regard, then I have no intention of taking responsibility. He also said that the demands of the Milestone students are reasonable. The advisor said that the chief advisor expressed grief on behalf of the state. We do not need to publish it separately. Incidentally, the HSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for July 22 and 24 have been postponed in the wake of the fighter plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka. At around 2:30 am on Monday (July 21), Information and Broadcasting Advisor Mahfuz Alam and Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan announced the postponement of the July 22 exam in a Facebook post. On the other hand, the Education Advisor announced the postponement of the July 24 exam on Tuesday. The ISPR said that 32 people had died in the Milestone plane crash as of Tuesday night.
