What the doctor said about Khaleda Zia’s physical condition
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been seen by doctors at her home, said her personal physician and BNP standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain. He told reporters after a program organized in London on Tuesday.
Dr. Zahid said, “You know that Begum Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at a London clinic since January 8. At the moment, Begum Zia is under the supervision of doctors at the home of her eldest son and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. She is under the supervision of Professor Patrick Kennedy and Jennifer Cross.”
Stating that Khaleda Zia is being treated at her home, the doctor said, “The tests that are given from time to time are being done. The doctors have visited her at home. Her physical condition is stable at the moment. You will pray for her recovery.”
He also said, “Her daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Syeda Shamila Rahman and three granddaughters Barristers Jayma Rahman, Zahia Rahman and Zafia Rahman are taking care of their grandmother. As a result, she is mentally much better than before. She is undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors round the clock.
Regarding Khaleda Zia’s return to the country, Dr. Zahid said, “She will return to the country the day the doctors here advise her to go or if they think she is in a condition to return to the country from abroad.”
