What Jamaat said on the news of giving 10 seats to NCP
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has said that the news of an agreement to give 10 seats to the National Citizens Party (NCP) is not true. Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has said that an agreement will be reached soon on the electoral seats of 11 parties. The demand to give 10 seats to NCP is ‘imaginary’.
The Jamaat leader said that if his party comes to power, the government will be formed in coordination with all political parties. Taher said these things in response to questions from journalists at a press conference at the Jamaat Ameer’s office in Bashundhara residential area of the capital on Wednesday (January 7) morning.
Earlier in the morning, Paola Pampaloni, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the European External Action Service, paid a courtesy call on the Jamaat Ameer. Regarding the meeting with the European Union, Taher said that the European Union has informed that they will send the maximum number of observers in this election. We welcome this.
