What India says about Sheikh Hasina and Chinmoy Das!
India has clarified its stand on the extradition request of the deposed former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the bail of the former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das. Asked to comment on the two issues, at the regular weekly briefing at the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi on Friday afternoon, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified the country’s position.
The spokesperson told in the briefing, “A week ago, I informed that I had received Bangladesh’s message regarding the extradition of Sheikh Hasina. Apart from that acknowledgement, there is nothing much to say at this time.” NDTV reported.
He told, “I hope he will get justice”, on being asked about the cancellation of the bail of the former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das.
On being asked about Bangladesh’s plan to buy tanks from Turkey, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs had said, “We closely monitor all security-related issues and take appropriate measures accordingly.” ‘
He said in a briefing after Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri’s visit to Dhaka last December, ‘During the Foreign Secretary’s visit to Dhaka, India clearly stated its support for a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive and inclusive Bangladesh in discussions with the interim government. ’
Sheikh Hasina, on August 5, escaped to India during the student movement. The caretaker government since then has been trying to bring her back home. A few days ago, Bangladesh sent a letter to India to send former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back home on charges of crimes against humanity.
Sheikh Hasina of the International Crimes Tribunal for murder during the mass uprising, disappearances and crossfires in the last 16 years, the Peelkhana massacre, and the killing of the Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shapla Chattar in Motijheel are various crimes against humanity committed. Cases are ongoing against Sheikh Hasina, her cabinet, and many others.
