What doctors said about Hadi’s latest condition
Members of the multi-disciplinary medical board formed to treat him said that there has been no visible improvement in the physical condition of Osman Hadi, the spokesman of the Inqilab Manch, who was shot. According to the doctors, his brain condition is ‘very bad’ and clinically he is still in a very critical stage. Plans are also underway to send him abroad. A doctor who did not want to be named gave this information after an emergency meeting of the medical board this Sunday (December 14) morning. The medical board meeting was held from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
The doctor involved in Hadi’s treatment said that Hadi underwent a CT scan this morning before the medical board meeting. This repeat CT scan showed extensive edema (water accumulation) in the brain and lack of oxygen, which is very dangerous for the brain. There were also signs of scattered blood clots in some parts of the brain. In other words, according to the latest CT scan, Hadi’s brain condition is very bad.
Stating that the condition of the lungs is the same as before, the doctor said, “Hadi’s breathing is currently being maintained through life support. However, it is a matter of some relief that his kidney function is normal. Fluid balance is being checked based on the output of about 4 liters of urine per day. The disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) that occurred earlier due to blood clotting and bleeding imbalance is also unchanged and no new crisis has arisen, the doctor said. According to him, the major concern is the brain. The brain stem injury is still in a serious condition.
Regarding sending him abroad, the doctor said that no final decision has been taken yet on taking Osman Hadi abroad for better treatment. He said that a case summary has been prepared by the medical board. Only if a hospital abroad accepts the patient after reviewing that case summary, will he be considered for taking him abroad.
He also said that it is not possible to say for sure right now whether he will be taken to Thailand, Singapore or any other country. Moreover, the patient is physically It is not yet certain whether he is stable enough. Whether he will be transferred abroad is still a big question.
Meanwhile, the Inquilab Manch reported around 10 am today that Osman Hadi is still not out of danger. The doctor has announced a 72-hour observation period. That period will end tomorrow, Monday night. Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of the Inquilab Manch, said, “Osman Hadi is still in a deep coma. His physical condition has not improved much. However, there is an internal reaction.”
It is worth noting that miscreants shot Osman Hadi, the convener of the Inquilab Manch and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, in Bijoynagar in the capital on Friday afternoon (December 12). Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After surgery there, Hadi was transferred to Evercare Hospital in the capital in the evening. He is currently undergoing treatment there.
