Wave of protests in Greece demanding an end to the war in Gaza
A huge demonstration was held in the European country of Greece demanding an end to the war in Gaza. Hundreds of Palestinian supporters took to the streets of the country’s capital Athens on Saturday (September 20).
They surrounded the parliament and demonstrated. The protesters also strongly condemned Israel’s aggressive actions. They demanded that the Greek government sever ties with Tel Aviv. At this time, people from different classes and professions gathered with Palestinian flags and banners. They chanted slogans against the Israeli aggression in Gaza.
One protester said that Greece should stop all military, commercial and cultural cooperation with Israel. On the other hand, a student expressed solidarity with Palestinian classmates whose school was bombed.
The protesters strongly condemned Benjamin Netanyahu’s occupation of Gaza City. They also demanded an immediate ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
