The verdict in the controversial RG Kar case in West Bengal is scheduled for Saturday. The Sealdah court is delivering its verdict in the case five months and nine days after the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Hospital.
Indian media reported that Judge Anirban Das will deliver the verdict in the case. The investigating agency CBI has identified Sanjay Roy of Civic Volunteer as the sole accused in this case. What punishment he will receive will be known on Saturday afternoon.

It was claimed that the police had first informed the family that the female doctor had committed suicide. The body was recovered at 9:30 in the morning. But the police filed a case at 11:45 at night.
Then the Calcutta High Court ordered a CBI investigation. The Supreme Court started a case on its own.
The movement of junior doctors started. The common people joined in. The principal and superintendent of the RG Tax were removed. CBI principal Sandeep Ghosh was arrested on charges of financial irregularities. He is now free on bail.
