The identity of the youth who vandalized the expressway toll plaza was found
An incident of vandalism took place at the capital’s Kurile toll plaza after a pick-up in a fleet of hearses was blocked. The incident took place at the Kuril Toll Plaza on the elevated expressway at 9:48 am last Wednesday.
It is known that the passengers of the pickup were angry because it was forbidden to ride in the open state of any vehicle on the expressway. But the pickup went to the expressway by tolling. Although there was no case in that incident, several law enforcement agencies have investigated the matter.
Several CCTV footages of the toll plaza show a freezing van carrying a dead body passing through the line. A pickup full of people was also in the same fleet. Another car entered soon after the freezing van carrying the body. As a result, the pickup fell behind. The dead body of the relative left earlier so the passengers of the pickup refused to obey the rules of the expressway authorities. At one stage they broke the toll bar.
Captain Hasib Hasan Khan, manager of security and traffic control department of First Dhaka Elevated Expressway, said, “We investigated and found that those who vandalized are not members of any political party. They were going to a funeral. They were a little unsettled as the hearse passed before them. Because since the dead body has gone, why can’t they go, there is a misunderstanding about it.’
