US Senator Criticizes GHF Operations in Gaza

Democratic Senator Cory Booker said he was heartbroken to see the “horrific hunger and suffering of Palestinian civilians” in Gaza. He called for immediate and massive aid to be sent to the besieged territory. “It is our collective moral responsibility to get humanitarian aid to those who need it most,” he wrote. “The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s strategy has not worked.” He also said, “As we have reported, Israeli forces and US-backed militias have killed more than 1,000 Palestinian aid seekers since GHF began operations in late May.” Booker also said Hamas should not block aid deliveries, although the New York Times reported a day earlier that the Israeli military had found no evidence of Palestinian groups blocking aid deliveries. The senator added, “Every moment of delay will cost the lives of children, pregnant women and other civilians and cause irreparable damage to their health.”
