Unrest in Nepal continues – protests continue, prisoners escape from prison

Unrest in Nepal continues even after the resignation of the Prime Minister. Angry students and the public are still protesting in many parts of the country. There have been incidents of looting and arson. Taking advantage of this, hundreds of prisoners have escaped from prisons in two western districts. Nepal’s state media and various international media outlets have confirmed this.
The situation is said to be tense in the capital Kathmandu and other cities. Curfew is still in force in various parts of the country, which will continue until 6 am next Thursday. However, it is being claimed that the situation is under control of the army.
According to international media sources, security forces are patrolling the streets. No one is being allowed to leave except for urgent needs. Tribhuvan International Airport has been closed until 6 pm local time. Earlier, security personnel arrested 26 protesters on charges of looting. On the other hand, Nepalese President Ram Chandra Paudel has called on all parties to show restraint.
It is worth noting that on Monday (September 8), when social media was opened, a massive protest started demanding the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Later, he resigned yesterday.
After that, rumors of him leaving the country arose. It is being heard that he may leave the country and live in Dubai. Indian media reported this information quoting relevant sources. It is being said that KP Sharma Oli is planning to leave Nepal using a private jet.
Earlier, protesting students and the public set fire to his residence in Balakot. This caused extensive damage to the house of the former Prime Minister of Nepal. Soon after leaving office on Tuesday, KP Sharma Oli was taken to a safe place in an army helicopter from the capital Kathmandu.
