University resumes classes in person amid Gaza rubble
The Islamic University of Gaza has resumed classes in person inside buildings destroyed by Israeli attacks. Although the scars of the war still remain, the return of students to classes is sending a new message of struggle and determination to the people of Gaza. Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Sunday (November 30).
Several buildings at the university partially collapsed in Israeli airstrikes. Many classrooms were reduced to rubble. Authorities have resumed classes on a limited scale after repairing broken walls. Students have returned to classrooms after spending a long time demolishing cracked walls and damaged buildings.
Some university buildings are currently being used as shelters. Those whose homes were destroyed in the massacre have taken refuge in these buildings. With normal educational activities disrupted, the administration has called on the relevant authorities to urgently arrange alternative shelters for these families. The Gaza government’s media office reported that 165 educational institutions have been completely destroyed and 392 partially damaged in the ongoing massacre, bringing Gaza’s education system to the brink of collapse.
