Unidentified body found floating in a drum in Narayanganj

An unidentified body was found floating inside a drum in Narayanganj. The body was recovered from a canal adjacent to Hridoy Moni School in Gednail Nayapara area of ​​Siddhirganj, Narayanganj on Sunday (January 18) morning. Around 8 am, locals saw the drum floating in the canal and informed the police. Later, the police of Siddhirganj police station came and recovered the body.
Abdul Barik, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj police station, told us that the locals became suspicious after seeing a drum floating in the canal and informed the police station. Later, the police went to the spot, recovered the drum, opened it and found the body of an unknown person inside. The body had started to decompose.
He said that the identity of the deceased and the cause of death could not be immediately confirmed. However, it is initially believed that he was killed and stuffed inside the drum to hide the body and thrown into the canal. The police official said the body has been sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy and an investigation has been launched to identify the deceased and unravel the mystery of the incident.
