UITS Computer Science and Engineering Department’s “Autumn Semester 2025” Student Orientation Held
The orientation of the “Autumn Semester 2025” (Batch 58) students of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), a private university based on information technology and science established in Bangladesh, was held today, August 21, 2025, Thursday at 11:00 am at the Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall of the university’s own campus adjacent to the Diplomatic Zone in Baridhara, the capital. The event was presided over by the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Mr. Al-Imtiaz, and the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan, took the seat of the chief guest.
In his speech as the chief guest, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor said that not all education can benefit the society. Therefore, in order to develop us perfectly, we must also receive moral education along with institutional education, so that this acquired knowledge can be used for the welfare of the country and society. He further said that the main objective of this university is to create honest, skilled and good people.
He extended his warm greetings and welcome to the new students and thanked all the teachers, students and concerned persons of the Computer Science and Engineering Department for successfully completing this event.
The Honorable Treasurer of UITS, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Engineer Md. Safayet Hossain, Assistant Proctor Mr. Sabbir Howlader and Course Coordinator of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Mr. Mrinmoy Biswas Akash, also spoke at the event. The closing speech was delivered by the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the university.
At the beginning of the program, Mohammad Muin, a student of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, recited from the Holy Quran and Udayan Sarkar read from the Holy Vedas. At this time, Jobayer Ahmed spoke on behalf of the new students. The program was moderated by Mohammad Raihan Mahmud and Nusrat Islam Nisa, students of the same department.
All the teachers-students, alumni, officers-employees and members of the Computer Club of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, as well as new students, were also present at the program. The new students were welcomed with flowers at the program.
