Two youths die in motorcycle race in Bogra
Two youths lost their lives while racing motorcycles on the highway in Bogra. Two others were injured in the incident.
The incident took place in Gokul Khelgarh area of Bogra Sadar upazila on Sunday night (September 28).
The deceased were Jihad Sarkar and Abid Hossain of Rahbal area of Shibganj upazila. Both were about 18 years old. They were studying in a private college in Bogra city.
Kunderhat Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Khalek, quoting locals, said that at around 9:30 pm, two students named Jihad Sarkar and Abid Hossain were heading towards Shibganj on the highway. At that time, they were racing at a reckless speed on two other motorcycles with their four friends. Suddenly, Jihad’s motorcycle lost control and collided with one of his friends’ motorcycles. Jihad and Abid fell off the motorcycle and hit the road divider and died on the spot. Two people on another motorcycle were injured when they fell onto the highway. Police said the body was handed over without an autopsy at the request of the relatives.
