Two workers killed in train collision in Netrokona
Two workers were killed in a train collision in the Challisha Bazar area of Netrokona. The accident occurred on Saturday (January 10) evening at Challisha Bazar on the Dhaka-Mohanganj railway line.
Police said that when the Mohanganj Express train leaving Dhaka reached the Challisha Bazar area of Netrokona Sadar, local factory worker Akash Roy (24) and Russell Mia (25) of Jhenaigati area of Sherpur were seriously injured when the train hit them while they were standing next to the railway line. Later, locals rescued them and took them to the Netrokona Adhikuni Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared them dead. Officer-in-Charge of Netrokona Sadar Police Station Md. Al Mamun Sarkar confirmed the deaths.
