Two women killed, 2 injured in motorcycle accident

Two female workers were killed in a reckless motorcycle accident while going to work in Mirpur, Kushtia. Two female workers died at around 4 am today (November 13) and around 9:30 pm yesterday, Wednesday.
The deceased are Beauty Khatun (40), wife of Shahabul of Chuniapara village in Baruipara union of Mirpur upazila, and Latifa (65), wife of the deceased Nannu of Yugipole village in the same upazila. Two more female workers were injured in the incident. The injured are Taslima Khatun (45) and Rita Khatun (35). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirpur police station Md. Mominul Islam confirmed the incident.
Police and eyewitnesses said that four female workers were going to work in a van at a local glass factory last night. At that time, a recklessly speeding motorcycle hit the van carrying them. As a result, the female workers fell on the road and were injured. They were later rescued and taken to Mirpur Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared Beauty Khatun dead. Meanwhile, another worker named Latifa died while undergoing treatment at Kushtia General Hospital around 4 am today.
