Two students killed in truck accident in Gazipur
Two teenagers were killed in a truck accident on the Asian Highway in the Golan Dorjibari area of Nagri Union in Kaliganj Upazila of Gazipur. Highway Police Kanchan Camp In-charge Sohel Rana confirmed that the accident took place on Tuesday (February 24) afternoon.
The deceased were Nausher Akand (16), son of Manjur Hossain, of Zinda area of Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj, and Mihad Akand (15), son of Mosharraf Hossain, of the same area. Nausher was an SSC candidate of Liton Angels Seminary School this year and Mihad was a class 10 student of the same school.
According to police and local sources, they were traveling on an unnumbered RTR motorcycle on the Asian Highway. At that time, a truck hit the motorcycle from behind. As a result, the two riders on the back of the motorcycle were thrown onto the road and seriously injured. Locals quickly rescued them and took them to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared both of them dead.
Upon receiving the information, the Highway Police went to the hospital and prepared an autopsy report on the bodies. At the request of the family, the bodies were handed over to the relatives without an autopsy. The Highway Police said that legal action will be taken in this incident.
