Two ninth-grade students accused of rape in Bauphal

Two ninth-grade students have been accused of rape in the same incident in Bauphal, Patuakhali. The two victims filed a complaint with Bauphal police station on Saturday (January 10) night.
According to police station and complaint sources, a young man named Anik (20) called a student he knew to his house at around 9 am last Thursday (January 8). Later, when the student went to Anik’s house with another classmate, the accused Anik is alleged to have raped both of them.
It is learned that the accused Anik is the son of Khalilur Rahman alias Khokon, a resident of Madanpura Union of the upazila. He has been absconding since the incident. It is believed that he is hiding in Dhaka. In this regard, Bauphal police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman said, “The two victims have complained to the police station. The complaint will be investigated and necessary legal action will be taken.”
