Two more die of dengue, 278 hospitalized

Two people have died of dengue, a disease spread by Aedes mosquitoes, in the last 24 hours. In addition, 278 more people have been hospitalized with dengue fever during this period. This information was given in a report sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (July 31). According to the report, from 8 am on Wednesday to 8 am on Thursday, 72 dengue patients were admitted to Barisal division (excluding City Corporation), 63 to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan, 46 to Dhaka division, 35 to Chittagong division, 35 to Rajshahi division, 18 to Khulna division, 5 to Rangpur division and 4 to Mymensingh division. So far this year, 20,980 people have been hospitalized due to dengue. Of these, more than 10,000 patients have been hospitalized this month alone. In addition, 83 people have died so far this year due to the disease. Among the dead, 47 were men and 36 were women.
