Two killed, including a woman, in separate motorcycle accidents
Two people, including a woman, were killed and two others injured in motorcycle accidents in Adamdighi and Sadar in Bogra. The two accidents occurred in front of the Intehad Plastic Factory in Adamdighi and in the Barpur area of Bogra Sadar on Saturday (December 13) night. Today, Sunday, police officials of the concerned police station said that the bodies of the two have been handed over to the families. The injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The deceased are Rahim Hossain (18), son of Ujjwal Hossain of Kashimala village in Adamdighi upazila sadar in Bogra, and Shanta Islam (24), wife of Abu Taleb of Atlai Darpara in Shibganj upazila.
The injured are Toufiq Hossain, son of Liton Hossain of Purghar village in Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat, and Rahim Uddin, son of Jewel Hossain of the same village. Police and eyewitnesses said that last night, madrasa student Rahim Hossain was returning to Adamdighi from Santahar with his friends Toufiq and Rahim on a motorcycle. On the way, when they reached the Intehad Plastic Factory on the Bogra-Naogaon road, they collided head-on with a private car coming from the opposite direction. The three friends on the motorcycle were thrown off the road and seriously injured.
Local fire service personnel rescued them and took them to Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex. Later, the seriously injured Rahim Hossain and Toufiq Hossain were shifted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital. There, doctors declared Rahim Hossain dead at around 8 pm. Adamdighi Police Station OC Ataur Rahman said that after the legal process, the body has been handed over to the relatives. A case has been filed under the Road Transport Act at Adamdighi Police Station in this regard.
On the other hand, at around 7:30 pm yesterday, a truck driver lost control and hit a motorcycle in the Baropur area of Bogra Sadar. Housewife Shanta Islam, who was on the motorcycle, was seriously injured. She was rescued and taken to Bogra Shajimech Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Inspector (Investigation) of Bogra Sadar Police Station Mahfuz Alam said that after the legal process, the body of the deceased housewife has been handed over to the family. A case has been filed with the police station under the Road Transport Act in this regard.
