Two groups clash over football game in Rupganj, 5 injured

A clash occurred between players and supporters of two teams due to a goal dispute during a football game in Rupganj, Narayanganj. At least 5 people from both groups were injured in this incident. The clash took place at the Ruposhi New Model School and College ground in Tarabo Municipality of the upazila on Saturday (December 13) afternoon. Tension is prevailing in the area regarding this.
Locals and eyewitnesses said that the Arafat Rahman Coco Football Tournament was organized at the Ruposhi New Model School and College ground. Ruposhi Sporting Club and Ruposhi Junior Sporting Club participated in the final game of this tournament yesterday afternoon. Local BNP leaders participated in the game as guests.
Locals also said that a dispute arose over a goal during the game. At that time, a fight started between the players and supporters of the two teams. At one point, the players and supporters of the two teams got involved in a clash. At least 5 people from both sides, including Monir, were injured during this time. Later, BNP leaders and activists and police dispersed supporters of both parties.
