Two drug traffickers arrested with Yaba worth Tk 4 crore

The Coast Guard has arrested two drug traffickers with a huge amount of Yaba worth about Tk 4 crore in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. This information was given by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq on Wednesday (January 14) morning.
He said, ‘Based on a secret information, on Tuesday (January 13) at around 1 pm, Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a special operation in the Naf River adjacent to Nightongpara of Teknaf Police Station, Cox’s Bazar. During the operation, a suspicious wooden boat was searched in the area and two drug traffickers were arrested with 75,000 pieces of Yaba worth about Tk 3.75 crore. He said, “The seized Yaba, the boat used for smuggling and the arrested drug traffickers have been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action.” The Coast Guard’s media officer said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent drug trafficking.
