Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister to visit Dhaka on 2-day visit

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Beris Ekinci is arriving in Bangladesh on Monday (October 6). He will lead the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC), a foreign secretary-level meeting between the two countries.
The meeting will be held tomorrow, Tuesday. The Bangladesh delegation will be led by Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam. The third FOC between Bangladesh and Turkey was held in 2019.
Apart from participating in the FOC, Beris Ekinci is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on Principal Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain and Energy Advisor Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan. Apart from this, he will hold separate meetings with leaders of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP).
The meeting of the foreign secretaries will discuss the overall relations between the two countries. Dhaka will emphasize on increasing trade and commerce. Defense cooperation with Turkey has increased in recent years. It is reported that the meeting will discuss this issue, along with the energy, agriculture, education, culture and information technology sectors.
