Trump’s role is important in alleviating the suffering of Palestinians: Bernie Sanders

US Senator Bernie Sanders has strongly criticized President Donald Trump’s inaction on the famine caused by Israel in Gaza. Expressing his anger at the US President, the senator wrote on social media: “Let me be clear: President Trump has the power to end the starvation of the Palestinian people. But he is doing nothing, just sitting back and watching this famine happen.” “Enough is enough. No more US taxpayer money for Netanyahu’s war machine.” It is worth noting that on Friday (August 22), the United Nations declared a famine in Gaza City and its surrounding areas for the first time. The current situation in the Gaza Strip has reached the fifth stage of famine. At this stage, many people may die of extreme hunger. This extreme form of famine could spread to other areas, including Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, by the end of September, putting more than 500,000 people across Gaza at risk of starvation.
