Trump sharply criticizes Pope Leo

US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Pope Leo XIV, the head of the Catholic Church. In a post on the social media platform ‘Truth’, Trump called the pope weak on fighting crime and ‘terrible’ on foreign policy.
He also said in an interview, “We don’t want a pope who says it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons. We don’t want a pope who says it’s okay for crime to happen in our cities. I’m not a big fan of Pope Leo. He’s a very liberal person and someone who doesn’t believe in fighting crime.”
According to him, the pope should focus on fulfilling his duties as a religious leader rather than getting involved in politics. In a Palm Sunday speech in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican last month, the pope said that God does not accept the prayers of warmongers and those whose hands are stained with blood.
He called the Iran war “cruel.” At the same time, the Pope urged Trump to find an alternative way to end the war by reducing violence. Trump is understood to have reacted angrily to the comment.
