Trump-Modi phone call, what was discussed
The presidents and prime ministers of the two countries spoke on the phone to further strengthen US-India relations. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Trump on his second term, calling him a ‘dear friend’.
Narendra Modi had congratulated Donald Trump after he was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. This time, he also spoke to Trump on the phone yesterday, Monday.

Meanwhile, in a statement after the phone call on Monday, the White House said that President Trump had a fruitful discussion with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders discussed expanding and deepening cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed many regional issues, including security in the Indo-Pacific region, the Middle East and Europe.
The White House also said that President Trump emphasized the importance of India increasing its purchases of American-made security equipment and moving toward a fairer trade relationship between the two countries.
