The US Supreme Court has given an ‘exceptional sentence’ to US President-elect Donald Trump in the porn star bribery case. The judge has not sentenced Trump to prison or a fine; rather, he has ordered ‘unconditional release’. Donald Trump is going to be sworn in as the 47th president of the country on January 20. In 2016, Donald Trump paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 through a lawyer to keep quiet about a sexual relationship before the US presidential election. Trump denied the matter in court but failed to present evidence in his favor. As a result, he was convicted in New York’s criminal court in May last year.
Judge Juan Marchán announced a rare verdict in US judicial history on Friday, 10 days before he was sworn in as president. Although Trump was convicted in the case, he was not sentenced to prison or fined. Instead, he was unconditionally released from the case.
