Trump Bans South Africa from G20 Summit
South Africa will not be invited to the G20 summit to be held in Florida, USA next year. US President Donald Trump made this known in a post on his social media account Truth Social on Wednesday (November 26). He said that the decision was taken to protest the oppression of white minorities in South Africa.
The United States did not participate in this year’s G20 summit. Washington said at the time that South Africa’s priorities, including trade cooperation and climate issues, were not consistent with US policy. In response, host country South Africa, breaking with tradition, refused to hand over the presidency to a US embassy representative after this year’s climate summit. Considering the overall situation, the United States, the host country for 2026, will not include South Africa in the upcoming G20 summit in Florida.
