Tribunal takes cognizance of 8 charges against Inu, including 7 murders in Kushtia

In view of the charges of 8 specific crimes against humanity and incitement, including 7 murders in Kushtia, the International Crimes Tribunal-2 has taken cognizance of the charges against JSD President Hasanul Haque Inu.
A formal charge was filed at the office of the Registrar General of the International Crimes Tribunal this Thursday (September 25) morning. After the hearing, the decision to take cognizance of the charges was taken.
Police arrested Hasanul Haque Inu from Uttara in the capital on August 26 last year. He is currently in jail in various cases. He also served as the Information Minister during the Awami League government.
Inu contested the 12th National Parliament election as a candidate of the alliance from his home constituency of Kushtia, where he lost to a rebel candidate of the Awami League.
Meanwhile, testimony and interrogation are underway against eight people, including former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, in a case of crimes against humanity over the killing of six people, including Shaheed Anas, at Chankharpool in the capital during the July-August movement.
