Training plane crashes: Navy joins rescue operation
A training plane of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in Uttara in the capital. The Navy has joined 2 platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in rescue operations and maintaining law and order. This information was given in a text message on Monday (July 21) afternoon. Meanwhile, the Fire Service said that 8 units of Uttara, Tongi, Pallabi, Kurmitola, Mirpur and Purbachal fire stations are working to put out the fire. It is learned that the Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7 BJI model training plane crashed in the Milestone College area at noon. Confirming the information about the plane crash, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the pilot was Flight Lieutenant Taukir Islam Sagar. He was the only one on the plane. So far, 60 people have been rescued in this accident and admitted to the National Burn Institute. Bulbul Ahmed, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Milestone College, said, “Our first to seventh grade classes were going on at the time of the incident. The students panicked at the loud noise. Many broke down in tears, and the teachers quickly rushed to evacuate them to safety. We immediately assisted in the rescue operation. However, he could not provide any specific information about the casualties. Mizanur Rahman, an official of Milestone College, told Soomi Sangbad that the plane caught fire as soon as it landed in the college area. He claimed that one student was killed in the incident. He also said that many others were injured. Several videos have already been shared on social media. The video footage shows fire and smoke. People are also seen running.
