Train accident in Bhangura disrupts travel

A train bogie derailed at Bhangura railway station in Bhangura upazila of Pabna. Two bogies of the Panchagarh-bound Panchagarh Express train coming from Dhaka derailed at around 4 am today (September 29). About 1,000 passengers of the train have been in extreme distress. However, it is initially known that no one was injured in the incident.
It is known that the Panchagarh-bound Panchagarh Express train coming from Dhaka left Dhaka at 11:30 pm last Sunday. When it reached Bhangura railway station around 4 am on the way, two bogies of the train derailed with a loud noise. At that time, more than 1,000 passengers of the train jumped off the train in panic. After that, the Bhangura police station immediately went to the spot and provided security to the passengers.
Till the time of writing this report, the railway could not start the work of rescuing the bogie. As a result, the passengers are spending their days in extreme distress.
Eyewitness passenger Manisha Kumari said, “A lot of suffering is being experienced as the train bogie derailed. However, no casualties have been reported.” She said that there were numerous passengers on the train returning home for the Puja holidays. Bhangura Police Station OC Shafiqul Islam said, “The Panchagarh Express train derailed around 4 am. Train movement has been stopped. Police are working to ensure the overall safety of the passengers.”
