Touhid Afridi on 5-day remand

A court has granted a 5-day remand to Touhid Afridi in a murder case filed at the capital’s Jatrabari police station. The court passed this order on Monday (August 25) following an application by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The investigation officer of the case, CID Police Inspector Khan Md. Erfan, filed the remand application. A hearing was held at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka. On Sunday (August 24), a special drive was conducted from Barisal and content creator Touhid Afridi, an accused in the July massacre case, was arrested. CID Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Jasim Uddin Khan confirmed the arrest. He was recently made an accused in a murder case at Jatrabari police station in the anti-discrimination student movement. A total of 25 people were named in this case and 150 others were made accused. Among them, accused number 11 is Touhid Afridi. The main accused in this case is former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The second accused is former Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and the third is former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Nasir Uddin Sathi, the father of Touhid Afridi, the father of MyTV, on August 17.
