Today’s march towards the Indian Embassy.
Three BNP organizations will march and submit a memorandum to the Indian Embassy in Dhaka today in protest against the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, insulting the national flag and the conspiracy to incite communal riots. The march, jointly initiated by the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal, is scheduled to start in front of the Nayapaltan BNP central office in the capital at 10 am on Sunday (today).
Leaders of the three organizations held a meeting at the Nayapaltan central office on Saturday. According to BNP sources, after the march and memorandum, it was decided to hold a long march to the Bangladesh border on the other side of Agartala in India in the same protest. It can be done from Dhaka to Akhaura. The possible date of the long march program has been fixed for December 11 (Wednesday). The leaders of the organizations spoke virtually with BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman at night regarding this.
Two leaders of the Youth and Volunteers’ Party have confirmed that the final date of the long march will be announced by today. They also said that they have taken a policy decision to hold the long march in advance because December 14 is Martyred Intellectuals’ Day and December 16 is Victory Day.
In a statement today regarding the march and memorandum, Nationalist Youth Party President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, Volunteers’ Party President SM Jilani and General Secretary Rajib Ahsan, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir have called on leaders and activists of all levels to spontaneously attend the program on time.
