Today you are becoming party members yourself, Mirza Fakhrul told journalists
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists, ‘You have many unions. There are two or three parts of BFUJ, DRU, and two other parties. Today you are becoming party members yourself. Political parties want to take some of you into their pockets. If you get into their pockets, there will be a problem.’ He said these things at a seminar titled ‘Media Reform Report Review’ organized by the Broadcast Journalist Center (BJC) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Monday (November 24).
The BNP Secretary General said, ‘Our commitment is very clear. We have clearly said through 31 points that we want to see an independent media and want to build it. That is why we promised to form a commission right then. We hope that if we are given the responsibility of forming the government through the people’s vote, we will undoubtedly give priority to this issue.’ Noting that everything depends on the state structure, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘If we cannot hold the reforms in our hearts, then it is doubtful how effective the reforms will be.’
