Today is the last day of arguments in the case against Hasina
The state will present its final arguments against Sheikh Hasina and 3 others in the crimes against humanity case on Thursday (October 23). After that, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 will set the date for the verdict.
Yesterday, Wednesday (October 22), the lawyers of the accused in this case finished presenting their arguments. Later, the state refuted the arguments. In continuation of that, the state will present the last day of arguments in this case today.
The chief prosecutor will present his statement to the tribunal today. In addition, the Attorney General will also speak. Earlier, 54 people, including the families of martyrs, injured and doctors, have testified in Sheikh Hasina’s case. The testimonies have come up – the July massacre, atrocities, various issues including disappearances and murders during the Awami League period, and torture.
Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, the IGP of Police during the July-August massacre, testified as a witness for the state in this case. He also outlined the events behind the genocide. The names of those who gave the orders and were responsible for its implementation have been revealed. The prosecution says that the evidence presented so far is sufficient to prove the guilt of the accused in any court in the world.
