    Tibet shaken by strong earthquake, death toll has risen to 95.

    A group of climbers caught a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck near the Nepal border in Tibet around 9 am local time this morning. Several aftershocks were also felt afterwards. The quake was also felt in neighboring Nepal and India.

    According to BBC, the earthquake frequently occurs in that region. There is a geologic fault line here. That’s why this area is prone to earthquakes.

    The earthquake’s epicentre lay some 50 miles west of the Tibetan capital Lhasa. Casualties occurred in a town called Gedar, which belongs to Damaksong County and located close to the epicenter.
