Three land ports on Bangladesh-India border to be closed

The Advisory Council has approved a proposal to declare three land ports of the country closed and suspend the operational activities of one land port. The proposal was approved at the 40th meeting of the Advisory Council at the office of the Chief Advisor in Tejgaon on Thursday (August 28), the Cabinet Division said. The meeting was presided over by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The three closed land ports under the Ministry of Shipping are Chilahati Land Port in Domar Upazila of Nilphamari, Daulatganj Land Port in Chuadanga and Tegamukh Land Port in Rangamati. In addition, a proposal to suspend the operational activities of Balla Land Port in Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj district of Sylhet division has been approved.
