‘Those who spoke against India were killed’
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said, ‘Those who spoke against India’s dominance were killed in a planned manner. In that vein, Osman Hadi’s fate was also similar. A revolutionary voice has fallen prematurely.’ He said these words as the chief guest at a discussion and prayer program organized by the Upazila Jamaat to seek forgiveness for Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi at the Ullapara Municipal Open Manch on Saturday evening (December 20).
He also said, we have lost a patriot and a heroic son of our time. Due to whose sacrifice and contribution, Bangladesh is free from tyranny today. We are able to speak freely. The country has taken several steps forward in the progress of democracy today. We believe that the long-cherished dream of the people of this country will be realized through the next parliamentary elections. Bangladesh will be a country free from corruption, terrorism, extortion and discrimination, free from communalism. The Assistant Secretary General said that those who are sitting in the position of state advisors today have reached there because of the movement of people like Hadi. It is the responsibility of the state to ensure the safety of those who risked their lives by fighting against fascism. Upazila Jamaat Office Secretary Maulana Abdur Bari presided over the discussion and prayer program organized by Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Shahjahan Ali. Upazila Jamaat Nayeb Ameer Dr. Nazrul Islam, General Secretary Khairul Islam, former Secretary Alauddin Al Azad, Publicity and Media Secretary Ashraful Alam, Municipal Jamaat Ameer Abdul Karim, among others, were present at the program.
