This time, an earthquake shook Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Iran

An earthquake struck the Herat al-Shaqa area in western Saudi Arabia. The earthquake’s magnitude was 3.4 on the Richter scale. At the same time, another Middle Eastern country, Iraq and Iran, also recorded a strong tremor, measuring 5.09 on the Richter scale.
The Saudi Gazette quoted the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) as saying that the country’s National Earthquake Monitoring Network recorded the tremor last Saturday. The epicenter of the earthquake was about 86 kilometers northwest of Herat al-Shaqa, between Al-Ais in the Medina region and Umluz governorates in the Tabuk region.
At the same time, a strong tremor was also recorded in Iraq. The Saudi Gazette reported this information, citing the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS). It is worth noting that Herat al-Shaqa is known as one of the main volcanic lava fields in Saudi Arabia. However, no major damage has been reported from any place so far.
