As Israel woke up to the morning after the Iranian attack, Israeli President Isaac Herzog called the morning “a very sad and difficult morning” in a message on his X (formerly Twitter) account. President Herzog said that many people were killed and injured in the “criminal Iranian attack,” including Jews, Arabs, Israeli citizens, new immigrants, children, the elderly, women and men. He expressed his deepest condolences for the victims.

Herzog added, “I am saddened by the terrible loss. I pray for the recovery of the injured and the recovery of the missing. We will grieve together. We will overcome together.” His message reflected the deep sense of crisis, fear and loss among the Israeli people.
