There will be 13 Ansar members with weapons at each polling station: Home Affairs Advisor

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that 13 Ansar members will be deployed at each polling station in the 13th National Parliament Election. In addition, another armed member will be deployed for the security of the presiding officer. He gave this information at a ceremony to hand over 31 vehicles purchased from its own funds for the transport sector of Bangladesh Ansar Welfare Trust in Khilgaon in the capital on Tuesday (October 28) morning. Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud and senior officers of the force were present at the ceremony.
The Home Affairs Advisor said that the maximum number of Ansar members will be deployed in the upcoming elections. Out of the 13, 4 will be deployed at each polling station with weapons. In addition, one will be deployed for the security of the presiding officer of the center.
He said, “The Ansars will have the biggest contribution in the elections. This time, for the first time, an armed Ansar member will be deployed with the presiding officer. The Ansar members will be on duty for a total of nine days during the elections and will play a very important role.” Praising the Bangladesh Ansar and the Village Defence Force, Md. Jahangir Alam said, “They are playing an important role in the security, maintenance of peace and order and national development of the country. They are performing their duties with dedication and patriotism without considering their own lives and interests.” Responding to a question about the recovery of weapons looted during the July coup, he said, “Weapons are being recovered every day. As the elections approach, the recovery activities are increasing.”
