‘There is no problem in the passage of Bangladeshi ships through the Strait of Hormuz’

Iranian Ambassador to Dhaka Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi has said that there is no problem in the passage of Bangladeshi ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The ambassador gave this information at a press conference organized at the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday (April 1). He said that Tehran has allowed six Bangladeshi fuel ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
The ambassador said, ‘We had informed Tehran about the six stranded ships. Iran’s National Security Council has approved providing assistance to these ships. However, we could not identify the ships earlier due to lack of detailed information.’
He also said that the Iranian government had sought detailed information about the ships. The Bangladesh government provided that information last week. Stating that the process of releasing the ships is ongoing, the ambassador said, ‘We will ensure all kinds of cooperation in this regard.’
