There is a need for the second Padma Bridge: Fakhrul
People want a solution to the crisis through a democratic system, and success is possible if there is unity among all, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. He made this comment at a seminar organized by the National Committee for the Implementation of the Padma Barrage and the Second Padma Bridge at the BRAC Center in the capital on Sunday (July 27). He said that the BNP is aware of the needs of the people. The BNP is moving forward with awareness of the need for changes in the state structure. He said, we are in a transition period. However, an opportunity has been created. National unity has been created. If we can utilize it, we will be successful. Everything will depend on the people. If the people of Bangladesh are united, they can. That was proven in 1971. It was also proven in 2012. Fakhrul said, there is a need for the Padma Barrage and the Second Padma Bridge. Many parts of the southern region have lost their bus service. Decisions need to be taken on these issues. Khaleda Zia has long spoken about the Second Padma Bridge. He also said that the BNP has already realized the need for reform. Tarique Rahman has given 31 points. Political commitment is needed. However, demands must also be raised among the people.
