The touch of the army has changed the lives of the people of the remote Bhuachhari hilly region

In addition to maintaining the security of the three hilly districts, the Bangladesh Army is working tirelessly to provide education, health and humanitarian assistance to remote villages. In that continuity, a unique humanitarian example has been created in Bhuachhari, a deep hilly region of Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The people of this area, which was neglected and underdeveloped for many years, are now smiling.
It was a difficult struggle for children to go to school by crossing the remote hilly path. But this picture has changed with the initiative of the Baghaihat Zone under the Khagrachari region and the overall guidance of the Region Commander. Under the Army’s ‘Peace, Harmony and Development’ program, 850 families in Bhuyachari, Laluchora, Kaluchora, Meetingchora, Tripurapara, Kojuitalipara and Dakshin Bhuyachari Government Primary Schools and their surrounding areas have been brought under the umbrella of self-reliant and safe life.
Army members distributed educational materials including bags, notebooks, pens, rubbers and pencils among the students of the local schools. The children’s faces filled with joy after receiving the new bags. They now go to school with more enthusiasm. In addition, the interest in sports has increased among the youth through the distribution of sports equipment including football, badminton, volleyball. As the youth gain mental peace, they are also becoming more physically capable. In addition, recently, a large-scale ‘Free Medical Services and Medicine Distribution Program’ has been started in Bhuyachari at the initiative of the Army.
This activity of the army proves that they are not only providing overall security to the country, but are also dedicated to the welfare of the people and social transformation. The people of Bhuachari now believe that the state has not forgotten them. Their children are going to school, playing sports and receiving regular medical treatment. Remote Bhuachari is today a living example where the presence of the state has brought new light into the lives of the people.
