‘The system is in such a state that it is impossible to change it in a year’ — Labor Advisor
All the systems of Bangladesh have collapsed, it is not possible to fix it in a year, said Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Shipping. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the check handover ceremony of the Sramik Kalyan Foundation at the conference room of the Natore Deputy Commissioner (DC) on Sunday (August 3) morning. Advisor Sakhawat Hossain warned the labor leaders that all the sectors of the country, including the police and administration, have already collapsed—if the workers create chaos in this situation, the situation will worsen. He also said that the country is exporting only in the garment and manpower sectors. In addition to sustaining these two sectors, more export-oriented sectors need to be created. Shipbuilding can be a good sector. The government is working on this sector. Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen presided over the check handover ceremony. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Amjad Hossain, Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Muktadir Arefin, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abul Hayat and leaders of various labor organizations were present at the time.
