The students’ wishes are our wishes, there is no question of victory or defeat in DUCSU: Sadiq Kayem

There is no victory or defeat in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU). Sadiq Kayem commented that the July generation, DU students, have won here. He made this comment in response to the victory of the Shibir-supported panel in the 2025 DUCSU elections for the VP post. Sadiq Kayem said at the beginning, “I remember all the martyrs of the great liberation war, the martyrs of the 90s, Abrar Fahad and all those persecuted by the Chhatra League. I want to firmly say that I will protect the deposit properly. I want to introduce myself not as the VP of DUCSU, but as a brother. You will see Sadiq Kayem again as you have seen him before, InshaAllah.” He also said that the students worked day and night to organize the elections. The students played a leading role in making the elections successful. Regardless of religion, opinion, path – we will all move forward together. We will develop DU as a full-fledged educational institution. It will be a safe campus for women. The wishes of the students are our wishes. Declaring that the fight will continue until the dream campus is built, the newly elected VP of DUC said, “Everyone who participated in the elections is an advisor. I hope they will all give advice. The July Revolution started from DUC. The fight to ensure a democratic environment in the country will continue from here.” DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad Hossain said, “This victory belongs to all DU students. This is an announcement to protect their huge deposit. If you make any mistake, please let me know. We do not want to go on any kind of victory procession. This is a test of our loyalty.”
